Canicross
At Canicross, a runner teams up with his dog. The dog has a supporting role in this and will pull the runner. This requires specific equipment. It comes down to completing a course as quickly as possible, ranging from 2 to sometimes 6 or 8 km. The interests and health of the dog are paramount.
Canitrail
Canitrail, like Canicross, is running with the dog in front, pulling. However, at Canitrail the distances are greater, there is no time pressure and it is more about enjoying than about winning.
Bikejoring
Bikejoring is a variant of Canicross, but with a mountain bike. It goes without saying that the dog must be in excellent condition and must have mastered the basic commands well. Furthermore, gloves, helmet and bicycle antenna are crucial.
Coursing
Coursing is a sport in which the dog runs behind a 'prey'. This is mainly practiced by greyhounds, but can in principle be done with any dog.
The dog 'chases' a mechanically pulled 'prey' and is of course rewarded at the end :-) (he can play with it for example)
There are not many coursing tracks and often reserved for greyhound clubs. But sometimes the slopes are open to all public. By organizing a session now and then we can teach the dog what is expected of him at such an event :-)
Our own equipment for this is currently still in the experimental phase...
